Cookie Policy
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how GAIO Tech BV ("we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website and platform (the "Service"). This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
Non-essential cookies and tracking technologies are only used on our website once you have accepted them through the consent banner shown on your first visit. Continuing to browse is not treated as consent, and nothing loads while you have not answered.
We ask about two separate purposes, and you can allow one without the other:Analytics (section 3.2) and Visitor identification (section 3.5). You can review, change or withdraw either decision at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the site footer, through your browser settings, or by contacting us directly.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to website owners about user behaviour and preferences.
Cookies can be "persistent" (remaining on your device until deleted or expired) or "session" (deleted when you close your browser). They can also be "first-party" (set by our website) or "third-party" (set by external services we use).
3. Types of Cookies We Use
3.1 Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the basic functionality of our Service:
- Session Management: Authentication and login status
- Security: CSRF protection and secure session handling
- Functionality: Form submissions and user preferences
- Load Balancing: Server distribution and performance
Note: Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the Service to function properly. Disabling them may prevent access to certain features.
3.2 Performance and Analytics Cookies
On our public website this is the Analytics consent category, and it means Google Analytics 4 and nothing else. It does not load unless you allow it. If you allow it, we measure:
- Page views: which pages are read, in what order, and from which referrer
- Interactions: clicks on calls to action and navigation, scroll depth, and time on page
- Core Web Vitals: real loading and responsiveness measurements, so we can fix slow pages
- Technical context: device category, screen size, browser language and time zone
This data is aggregated and used to improve the site. We explicitly disable Google Signals and ad personalisation, so it is never used to build an advertising profile or follow you across other websites, and advertising storage stays switched off regardless of what you consent to here.
3.3 Functional Cookies
These cookies enhance your experience by remembering your preferences:
- Theme Preferences: Dark/light mode selection
- Language Settings: Preferred language and region
- Dashboard Layout: Customized view preferences
- Calculator Settings: Saved input values and preferences
3.4 Marketing and Targeting Cookies
These cookies help us deliver relevant content and measure campaign effectiveness:
- Campaign Tracking: Source of website visits and conversions
- Retargeting: Showing relevant ads on other websites
- Email Marketing: Tracking email open rates and click-through
- Social Media: Integration with LinkedIn, Twitter, and other platforms
You can opt-out of marketing cookies through your browser settings or our preference center without affecting essential Service functionality.
3.5 Visitor Identification Cookies
This is the Visitor identification consent category, and it is asked separately from Analytics because it is a different thing to agree to. We use Apollo.io on our public website to identify the organisation a visitor is browsing from, so that our team can follow up on business interest. Apollo receives your IP address and information about the pages you view, and matches it against its own database of companies.
- What it identifies: the company or organisation, not you as a named individual
- Who receives the data: Apollo.io, Inc. (United States)
- Legal basis: your consent, given through the cookie banner
This tracker does not load at all unless you accept it. If you decline, or have not yet answered the banner, no Apollo script is requested and no data reaches Apollo. Refusing this category while allowing Analytics is a supported choice. Withdrawing consent through Cookie preferences in the footer stops it from loading on your next page view.
4. Third-Party Cookies
We work with trusted third-party services that may set their own cookies:
Google Services
- Google Analytics 4 (website measurement — consent required, see section 3.2; Google Signals and ad personalisation disabled)
- Google OAuth (authentication — applies when signing in to the platform, not to this website)
- Google Ads (conversion tracking)
Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Sales and Visitor Intelligence
- Apollo.io (website visitor company identification — consent required, see section 3.5)
Privacy Policy: apollo.io/privacy-policy
Communication Services
- SendGrid (email delivery)
- Slack (team notifications)
- Intercom (customer support)
These services may use cookies for functionality and analytics.
5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
5.1 Browser Settings
You can control cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, Search, and Services → Cookies
5.2 Opt-Out Options
The simplest route for this website is the Cookie preferences link in our footer: it reopens the consent choices with your current settings shown, and lets you turn Analytics and Visitor identification on or off independently. Turning both off withdraws consent entirely.
For specific cookie types, you can also opt-out directly with the provider:
- Google Analytics: Browser opt-out add-on
- Advertising: Your Online Choices
- Network Advertising: NAI Opt-Out Tool
